SIZZLE heats up the Castro every month, merging internationally acclaimed queer and erotic authors with the Bay Area's top emerging local writers, spoken word artists and performers. SIZZLE's open mic performances regularly reveal the bravest, hottest, most eclectic performers that the Bay Area has to offer.

Works In Progress: An Open Mic for Women’s Poetry and Music the Home of Truth 1300 Grand St, Alameda, Saturday, April 11, 6:30 to 10 P.M. Featuring: Kaylah Marin, song writer and soul vocalist, can sing her heart out. Her strong voice reflects her heritage brimming with art, music, strength, and spirituality. Her warm inner glow shines through her soulfully inspired lyrics and vocals.

"Open Eyes a Queer Film Friday at Femina Potens" will take place the first Friday of each month at the Femina Potens Art Gallery. "Open Eyes" features local artist's provocative, critical, and engaging films followed by a wine & vegan cookie reception along with a question and answer session with the film makers. Also, there will be one monitor in the gallery for our virtual open mic. Come by at 7:30 p.m. to submit your short films or video pieces. Pieces can be up to 5 minutes in length.
