just a quick note: The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Historical Society of San Francisco is opening its doors to students in honor of Harvey Milk’s birthday by offering free admission with student ID May 22 – 24, 2009 and hosting a “teach-in” for local high school students on May 22, 2009. In conjunction with Harvey Milk’s birthday on May 22, 2009, the GLBT Historical Society invites public and private high school classes to a field trip and “teach-in” at the “Passionate Struggle” exhibition currently on display at 499 Castro Street (at 18th St). The event is in accordance with the California State Board of Education’s Academic Standards and the equity goals of the SFUSD 2008-2012 Strategic Plan. Registration is required. Local educators interested in registering their class for the field trip should contact Paul Boneberg or Aimee Forster by May 16, 2009 to express interest or to discuss this learning opportunity further. They are reached by email at: paul@glbthistory.org or Aimee@glbthistory.org or by phone at 415-777-5455.
