Kit Kennedy's poems appear in Runes, Van Gogh's Ear, Bombay Gin, Gay & Lesbian Review, Comstock Review, and many other magazines, anthologies, and journals. She hosts the monthly reading series at Gallery Cafe in San Francisco and is a columnist for the online journal Betty's List. An extremely versatile poet, whose work ranges
from nature to the avant garde to ritual to wherever her brilliance leads her, she is a fine and memorable performer whose appearances as a reader in the East Bay are far too rare and not to be missed.
Judy Wells is the author of eight books, including Call Home (Scarlet Tanager, 2005) and Everything Irish (Scarlet Tanager, 1999) and is co-editor of The Berkeley Literary Women's Revolution (McFarland, 2005). Her ninth book, I Dream of Circus Characters, A Berkeley Chronicle, is due out from Beatitude Press. She has taught creative writing, and women's poetry at several Bay Area colleges, has been published in many journals, magazines, and anthologies. Her poetry is passionate, humorous, erudite, tightly crafted, and highly accessible. She is well known as a dynamic, charming, and wonderfully entertaining reader.
The Last Word Reading Series is presented monthly, 2nd Fridays by Nefeli Caffe, a café/restaurant that serves dinners, tapas, coffee drinks, beer, wine, and more. Admission is free. One drink minimum encouraged. Dale Jensen, Ralph Dranow, John Rowe, Diana Q, Grace Grafton are co-hosts.
