Femina Potens proudly presents SIZZLE, the monthly Bay Area award winning literary erotica series. SIZZLE heats up the Castro every month, merging internationally acclaimed queer and erotic authors with the Bay Area's top emerging local writers, spoken word artists and performers. SIZZLES’s open mic performances regularly reveal the bravest, hottest, most eclectic performers that the Bay Area has to offer.
This April, Femina Potens is spotlighting the simmering sexpots of provocative publishing with handfuls of happily horny homos. Come get deep fried in the devilish desires of SIZZLE’s kinky, queer characters. Novelists Karin Kallmaker, Jaime Clevenger, Diane Anderson-Minshall, and Jacob Anderson-Minshall will read about richly rainbowed romances, delving dyke deliveries, tantalizing trans trysts and seedy sapphic sex. We welcome the musical talents of songwriter Angela Leo. SIZZLE’s recipe for ribald fun will include murder, mystery, and mounting mayhem with these expert erotica writers, whom you will get to grill during the following question and answer panel. Enjoy an evening of gratuitous gays and powerful, passionate publishers with Femina Poten’s Simmering Sexpots of SIZZLE. Friday, April 10th, 8:00pm.
Sizzle hosted by:
Femina Potens curator, international award winning Bondage Model and Feminist Porn Star – Madison Young.

Karin Kallmaker's lesbian fiction novels include the Goldie and Lammy award-winning 18th & Castro, Just Like That, Maybe Next Time and Sugar and span lesbian romance, lesbian erotica and lesbian science-fiction/fantasy. Translations include Spanish, French, German and Czech. More than five dozen short stories have appeared in anthologies from publishers like Alyson, Circlet, Cleis, Bold Strokes, Yellow Rose and Haworth. Her writing career began with the venerable Naiad Press, continues with Bella Books and spans more than two dozen novels in print. In 2008, she joined Bella Books as the press's first Editorial Director.
Jaime Clevenger lives in Northern California, with her partner, two horses, one fish and three cats. By day she's a veterinarian and at night she write novels and short stories – primarily fiction, including Whiskey and Oak Leaves, All Bets Off, and Call Shotgun.
Diane Anderson-Minshall is the co-author of the Blind Eye mystery series, including Blind Curves, Blind Leap, and the recently released, award-nominated Blind Faith. Her first romantic intrigue novel, Punishment With Kisses, will be release in June. By day, Diane is the executive editor of Curve magazine, the world's best selling lesbian magazine, and a freelance writer published in dozens of magazines and anthologies. The former president of Bitch magazine's board of directors, Diane was named one of Power Up's Ten Powerful Gay Women in Showbiz in 2006. She's and her co-pilot of 19 years have two foster sons and divide their time between Portland and San Francisco.
Jacob Anderson-Minshall is Diane’s partner in crime, co-founder of Girlfriends magazine and co-author of the Blind Eye series. He previously wrote the long-running weekly syndicated column, TransNation, which ran in LGBT papers from San Francisco to New York and now he hosts Gender Blender, a radio talk show on KBOO FM radio in Portland. His essays on gender and feminism are included in two recent anthologies, Trans People in Love and Men Speak Out: Views on Gender, Sex and Power.
She’s walked across fire, parachuted from airplanes and made camp in the heart of the Costa Rican rain forest, but Angela Leo’s most courageous act to date is writing songs. Within the tightly crafted lyrics and emotional agility that defines her debut CD, Cognitive Dissonance, the Hollywood-based Leo neatly grafts the evolved sensibility of a poet to the economy of a songwriter.
