TAKE A STAND, NO TO HATE CRIMES AGAINST THE TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY! AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL On Wednesday, one transgender woman was stabbed to death in Washington, D.C. and another was in stable condition with stab wounds from an unknown assailant following an incident. The stabbings happened about two blocks away from the offices of the Transgender Health Empowerment (T.H.E.), a social services organization that offers drop-in services to transgender people, especially to transgender youth within the city. In just this year alone, violence against the trans communities are in the double digits worldwide. Hate crimes against people within the trans communities must stop now! Take a stand and say an injury to one within the LGBT community, is an injury to all. Join One Struggle, One Fight and others this Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at 9:30 on 18th and Castro for a Candlelight Vigil to stand against hate crimes against our community.
